| William's parents
were difficult to track down... his baptism doesn't appear on the IGI
and short of hunting through Birling parish records, little progress
could be made. The 1861 census, however, shows that William's brother Henry
was living with him. Henry's baptism - and those of his other siblings -
is on the IGI, so we can therefore identify William's parents. |
| In the Society of
Genealogy marriage records, William is recorded as a widower at his
marriage to Maria. The marriage witnesses were Clyd(?) OSWALD and James
SMITH |
