information
Known as Edward
HORTON (VF)
It's unclear why Edward was unbaptised until the age of 12, but the registrar helpfully cross referenced the Parish Records, adding a footnote to the 1836 page directing the reader to Dec 1848!
Edward and his brother Ambrose were staying with their mother's brother, Enoch at the 1861 census and were recorded with the surname HORTON.
They were certainly a close-knit family, because at the 1871 census, Edward was lodging with another of mother's brothers, Charles.
