Known as Winifred SMITS (HMGS) John GUIHEEN did a carpentry apprenticeship in Thorne and was mates with Jack (John Francis) SMITS as they were the same age. That's how he came to meet Wilhelmina. John changed his name to WINN before emigrating to the U.S. (WM)
