| Elizabeth was born in number 2 Blackburn Avenue, Brough. (EAS)
Had she been a boy, she was going to be called David.
Oddly, none of her four younger brothers were given that name. Blackburn Avenue used to have a football field and bowling green on one side, and opposite that was a farm called Cranswick, where Elizabeth went picking cowslips as a child. Pinchbeck farm was nearby too. All turned over to housing by 2021. In 1940, when Elizabeth was about 1, the family moved to a General Store in Elleker. Apparently, on one occasion, Elizabeth fell head first into a sack of oats or grain and was pulled out by her grandad Walter. Just as well, or you wouldn't be reading this website now! (EAS) |

| When Elizabeth's youngest brother Trevor was born, she went to school excitedly saying "I've got another brother!". "Have you really??" was the sarcastic reply. (EAS) | ||
