| Bert was already married when he met Doris WARD, so could not marry her, but this did not stop him giving her 6 children. They eventually lived together but all the children except two were put in an orphanage. These two were brought up by their grandmother. Two were fostered after a few years. At least one stayed in the orphanage all his childhood. Bert also had two children to his first wife and went back to her when Doris died in childbirth with their seventh child. I believe they had another child then. (EC) |
