Ken's sister Peggy always said that he never pulled his weight... Ken went into the RAF and soon left, after which he joined the Blackburn aircraft factory in Brough but rarely went to work. Ken ran his mother's newspaper shop afterward she stopped working there, but the business went downhill. Ken also had a little shop opposite the Buccaneer pub by Brough railway station, but that went under too. (EAS)
